We celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month every year between September 15 and October 15. This special month recognizes the many contributions of Hispanic Americans. The holiday began under President Lyndon Johnson in 1968, but back then it lasted only a week. President Ronald Reagan expanded the celebration to a full month in 1988. Each year has a theme: For 2024, the theme is “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together.”
The resources below will help you find some exciting ways to celebrate Hispanic heritage with your class!
It is equally important to consider parents/caregivers as partners in the educational experience; after all, schools are providing a service to their most precious accomplishment! From the start of the year, you want to leverage this important resource by building relationships not only with students, but also with their parents/caregivers.
Use Creating a Partnership with Parents/Caregivers to help guide your thinking on creating a partnership with them.
